School board candidate filing set to begin Monday, Dec. 5

Candidates for the Board of Education in 15 Logan County school districts will file their Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, December 5 and continuing Tuesday and Wednesday, Logan County Election Board Secretary  Erin Dorio said today.

Dorio said the official filing period ends at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7. All candidate filings will occur at the Logan County Election Board office, 224 E Vilas Ave, in  Guthrie, Dorio said.

The Board of Education positions at stake will be filled at the Annual School Election scheduled February 14, 2017. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the total votes cast in the election, the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes will meet in a runoff election on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

Candidates may file for the following offices:

Coyle School District—Office No. 2

Crescent School District—Office No. 2

Guthrie School District—Office No. 2

Guthrie School District—Office No. 6

Mulhall-Orlando School District—Office No. 2

Cashion School District—Office No. 2

Covington-Douglas School District—Office No. 2

Deer Creek School District—Office No. 2

Luther School District—Office No. 2

Perkins-Tryon School District—Office No. 2

Wellston School District—Office No. 2

Autry Technology—Office No. 5

Eastern Oklahoma Technology Ctr—Office No. 1

Francis-Tuttle Technology Ctr—Office No 2

Gordon Cooper Technology Ctr—Office No. 4

Meridian Technology Ctr—Office No. 4
