Emergency crews responded to the 1200 block N. Wentz (Highway 77) and just south of Guthrie High School at around 6:46 a.m. on Wednesday.

Guthrie Police told Guthrie News Page on the scene that it appeared the female driver of the SUV was drowsy and may have fallen asleep while traveling northbound. The bus driver, who did not report any injuries, saw the SUV drifting and tried to avoid the vehicle. However, the vehicle’s passengers side collided.

The school bus driver was on the way to begin their route for the morning.

The road way was blocked for 72 minutes, but opened just before 8 a.m.
