Secretary of Logan County Election Board to resign; accepts state job

Erin Dorio, secretary of elections over Logan County, has announced that she will be resigning from office effective July 28, after 16 years of service.

Dorio, who has accepted a position with the Oklahoma State Election Board, has served as the Logan County Secretary for the past 9.5 years.

Senator AJ Griffin will make a recommendation to the state election board for Dorio’s replacement. The state election board will then make the appointment for the two-year term.

Sheleen Winscott, who has been with the Logan County Election Board for the past 12 years next to Dorio, has shown interest in the position.

The Board of County Commissioners will acknowledge Dorio’s resignation at their July 14 meeting.

The appointment, who must reside in Logan County, is expected to be made in August.
