Several fire crews needed to knock down grass fire

It’s definitely that time of the year that keeps firefighters and fire departments extremely busy. Grass fire season. On Monday, the most recent fire burned up several acres.

Seven fire departments assisted Cashion with a grass fire that charred up approximately 200 acres of farm land at about 2:30 p.m.

The fire was estimated 2.5 miles west of Highway 74 near Charter Oak and Rockwell.

Assisting to help put out the fires was Deer Creek, Guthrie, Oak Cliff, Piedmont, Big 4, Crescent and Twin Lakes.

There was no damage reported to any structures in the path of the fire.
