The Seward Road bridge over interstate 35 is drawing closer to completion. After all is done a new bridge and ramps will be updated for interstate travel and for a growing population in southern Logan County.

According to Oklahoma Department of Transportation, two lanes and shoulders are being added to improve Seward Road.

Sherwood Construction continues to work on the $6.8 million dollar project and hopes to have it done sometime in November.

Just last week, crews poured cement on the new bridge that sits next to the north of the existing bridge.

Completion is expected to be done sometime in November. The project originally was scheduled for 2014, but additional federal funding became available to accelerate the project.

ODOT says an average of 35,000 cars pass under the bridge on a daily basis.
