The Guthrie City Council held a 34 second special meeting Tuesday evening and was just enough time to approved a city council vacant seat.
Mayor Chuck Burtcher nominated Sharyl Padgett to represent Ward 3 and was unanimously approved 5-0.
Along with Padgett, Linda Craddock and Stephen I. Smith filled out the proper paper work for consideration.
The seat was opened after Sheri Mueller resigned her post after changing residences out of her ward. Mueller replaced Ellen Gomes, who resigned on September 8.
The Ward 3 seat is set to expire in May 2015.
