Sheriff Office returns stolen items back to owners; more to come

Residents left the Logan County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday with smiles and gratitude as they retrieved their personal items that were once stolen away from them.

Inside the Sheriff’s Office sally port were guns, tools, air compressors, bows and cameras on tables that deputies and investigators recovered throughout several theft investigations.

“We are just so thankful to get our items back,” one lady said smiling as she loaded up the back of her truck.

Investigators say with the apprehension of Israel Cummings, and his brother Jeremy Doramus, more items from other thefts will be recovered, processed and back to their rightful owners. Related story: Driver passed out at the wheel leads to several stolen items

Officials go on to say that residents should keep a record of serial numbers, photos and video of their belongings. With the proper identification, recovered items can be returned in a more timely manner.

Another suggestion from officials is that you see anyone suspicious, or out-of-place to call their office (405-282-4100) and they would be glad to come out and investigate.
