James Fox, 65, was positively identified at the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office and his family has been notified.
The search continues for Fox’s 1999 Cadillac Deville as well for any possible suspects or motives for the crime.
“The Logan County Sheriff’s Office offers our condolences for Fox’s family and friends,” Chief Deputy Richard Stephens said.
Update – Monday, 8:15 a.m. — Chief Deputy Richard Stephens says a caucasian, adult male was found dead inside his southern Logan County home with trauma to his body. The incident is being investigated as a homicide.
After missing since Wednesday, a trusted neighbor with a key entered the residence and discovered the body.
Logan County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations began an investigation of the residence after receiving a search warrant.
Stephens says the resident’s vehicle is missing, and may have been taken by the suspect(s). The vehicle is a 1999 Cadillac Seville, white in color, damage to the driver’s side mirror and has a trailer hitch installed under the rear bumper.
The Oklahoma License Plate is 006LJN, but may have been changed. Stephens says the type of vehicle and the addition of the trailer hitch are very distinctive.
If this vehicle is located, you are encouraged to contact local authorities and not approach the vehicle or anyone who is using the vehicle.
Update – 10:25 p.m. – A search warrant has been granted. Investigators will begin to investigate the scene.
Original story – 8:00 p.m. – The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a suspicious death in southern Logan County.
Chief Deputy Richard Stephens says there are not any specific details at this time, but a deceased person has been found inside a home in the 8300 block of Holly Hill Dr.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene shortly after 7 p.m.
A person was reported missing on Wednesday from the area. It is unknown who made their way into the home, but that is when the deceased body was discovered.
A witness tells Guthrie News Page that blood could be seen throughout the home and the deceased (unknown sex) was found near a bed.
Stephens could not comment on any specifics at this time in the investigation.
Investigators were working on a search warrant for the home at the time of this story.
