Silver Alert issued for Earl Sykes; last seen in OKC

A Silver Alert has been activated by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) on behalf of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office for a missing and at-risk 73-year-old man, Earl Sykes.

Mr. Sykes, a long-time Guthrie educator, was last seen on Monday, May 5, 2025, in the vicinity of Memorial Road and May Avenue in Oklahoma City. He is described as being 6’2″ tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds. At the time of his disappearance, he was reportedly wearing blue jeans and an unknown shirt.

Authorities have stated that Mr. Sykes has several medical conditions that require daily medication, adding to the urgency of locating him.

He is believed to be driving a white 2012 Chevrolet Malibu with Oklahoma license plate number FSV731.

Anyone with information regarding Earl Sykes’s whereabouts or who may have seen his vehicle is urged to immediately contact law enforcement or tribal authorities by dialing 9-1-1.
