A family member woke up to the smell of smoke in their home. Just moments later the home was engulfed with smoke and flames.
The Guthrie Fire Department responded to the structure fire just after 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
The home was located near the intersection of Prairie Grove Road and Academy Road.
The fire appears to have started near the back of the home, but an exact cause was not known at the scene.
The Oak Cliff Fire Department assisted with the blaze.
The American Red Cross was called to help the home owner.
