The girls dropped a 4-1 decision to the 6A Wolves to fall to 0-2 on the year. Shawnee’s (4-0) Jordan Parsons scored a hat trick while Guthrie’s Sydney Penrod scored the only goal for Guthrie on a free kick with 15 minutes left in the game.

It was not all bad news for the Lady Jays as Keegan Fortenberry and Keshia Franks signed their letter of intents to play college soccer at Bethel College in North Newton Kansas earlier in the day.

In the boys game, Jared Ogan, who plays defense, scored the winning goal with five minutes left to over come Shawnee (1-4).

After a scoreless first half, Guthrie eliminated their two game losing streak and two game scoreless streak to improve to 3-2 on the season.

Both Guthrie squads will be off from game action until March 23rd when they travel and take on Harrah. The girls kick it off at 5:30 and the boys follow at 7:30.
