Softball districts announced for Class 5A; Guthrie remains in District 1

The OSSAA Board of Directors approved new fastpitch softball districts for Class 5A District 1 on Wednesday.

The new districts are for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years.

Guthrie remains in District 1 with Carl Albert, El Reno and Guymon. No longer in the district is Deer Creek, Northwest Classen, Capitol Hill and Southeast.

Schools in the Oklahoma City school district teams were recently granted to play an independent schedule due to declining participation numbers.

District 1: Carl Albert, Del City, El Reno, Guymon, Noble, Western Heights, Woodward, Guthrie

District 2: Altus, Ardmore, Duncan, Lawton Eisenhower, Lawton MacArthur, Piedmont, Santa Fe South

District 3: Claremore, Coweta, Glenpool, Skiatook, Pryor, Shawnee, Tulsa Edison

District 4: Collinsville, Durant, McAlester, Tahlequah, Tulsa Hale, Tulsa Kelley, Tulsa Memorial
