Special Jays participating in 46th annual Special Olympics

Despite the misty rain, the Guthrie Special Jays were sent off to the Special Olympics with hundreds of students cheering them on for the 46th annual event.

The Jays athletes are a part of 5,000 athletes that will compete over three days. For the 32nd time, Oklahoma State University and City of Stillwater are hosting the event.

The team was escorted out of town Wednesday morning from the Guthrie Police Department. The entourage made their way for the Guthrie Upper Elementary School with students lined up down the road way. The scene was familiar at Guthrie High School and Fogarty Central elementary schools with students waving and holding good luck signs.
