Kye Staley has had numerous headlines in his football career in both high school and college, but the latest is what the Guthrie product has been waiting for.
Staley rushed for 55 yards in the White’s 49-46 victory against the Orange on Saturday afternoon in the Oklahoma State spring football game. Staley, a junior for the Pokes,
suffered a devastating knee injury during OSU’s fall practices before the 2009 season that caused him to miss the entire year.
Staley played multiple positions in leading Guthrie to the state championship in 2007. He ran for 1,380 yards and 28 touchdowns while passing for 625 yards, and caught 10 passes for 320 yards. Staley left the Guthrie program with multiple school records.
