State Health Department: Logan County among highest in flu-related deaths

The Oklahoma State Department of Health has released their latest numbers when it comes to the number of flu-related deaths. The department reports 101 related deaths in the state, including five in Logan County.

Flu vaccineOSDH says one person from Logan, Oklahoma and Waggoner counties died just last week (March 11-17).

The list (dated Sept. 28, 2014 thru March 17,2015) shows 2,183 people were hospitalized by the flu throughout the state. For Logan County, 27 people were hospitalized due to the their symptoms

Outside of Tulsa (22) and Oklahoma (13) counties, Logan County tied for third, along with three other counties, in death related cases.

OSDH compared “rate per 100,000” for each county and Logan County ranked among the highest at 11.5 of the counties reporting five deaths.

In the same rate ratio, Logan County was overall the fourth highest in the state.
