Stillwater man killed on Highway 33 accident near Langston

One person was killed in a two vehicle accident on Thursday evening on Highway 33. The same accident sent three people to nearby hospitals.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 1994 Ford Explorer driven by Rickey G. Mitchell, 60, of Stillwater was traveling southbound on Henney Road and was struck by a 2013 Dodge pickup driven by Marcus Chandler, 34, of Stillwater, who was travelling westbound on Highway 33.

The report says Mitchell failed to stop at a stop sign entering the intersection resulting in Mitchell’s Ford Explorer to overturn approximately 2 1/2 times and coming to rest on its top.

Mitchell, who was partially ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mitchell’s passenger, Michelle Brown, 33, of Stillwater, was transported by Air Evac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted in good condition with internal and external trunk and arm injuries.

Marcus Chandler, along with his passenger, Seneddre D. Chandler, 40, of Stillwater were transported from the scene by the Guthrie Fire Department. Marcus Chandler was treated and release at Mercy Logan County while Seneddre Chandler was admitted in good condition at Mercy in Oklahoma City.
