Suspects in brutal crime in Edmond have Guthrie ties

Two men have been arrested following a vicious crime in Edmond. Both suspects have connections with Guthrie and are accused of breaking into a family’s home and robbing them at gunpoint.

On July 17, police officers in Edmond responded to a burglary in progress in the 2000 block of Summer Way with two women and two men inside.

According to reports, a man inside the home said he heard someone knocking on the door proclaiming to be the police. The suspects kicked in the door and made their way inside the home with guns and demanded money and drugs.

Once inside, the suspects allegedly pistol whipped two of the victims and stomped on a woman’s head causing her to lose consciousness.

The suspects are said to have told the victims, “Don’t do anything or we will kill and rape you.”

Bryant Nelson, 22, and Zane Peery were arrested for first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery with a deadly weapon. It is believed another person was with Bryant and Peery.

Nelson pleaded guilty to second degree arson in a 2011 crime on Guthrie’s east side. Related story: Teenage thieves rob house with gun fire; house burned

According to friends and his Facebook profile, Peery is from Guthrie.
