Tinaya Brown is the student that many teachers welcome to their classroom. For December, Tinaya was selected as this the Guthrie Public Schools Student of the Month.
Brown was recently recognized by the school district and Blake Wimsey with Foundation Insurance.
“It has been inspiring to watch Tinaya grow from 7th grade to 8th grade,” her teacher Kristen Hooper said. “(She’s) a student that is engaged, curious, kind, respectful and hungry for knowledge.”
Tinaya was selected for the character trait of perseverance.
“With hard work, dedication, and perseverance she has maintained A’s and B’s in all her classes and continues to push herself academically,” Hooper said.
GPS and Blake Wimsey (pictured left) with Foundation Insurance have teamed up for the fourth straight year to honor students for the character traits. Teachers and faculty select students who have displayed behavior deserving of recognition.
For her efforts, Tinaya was presented with a $65 gift card to Stacy’s Place.
