Tips to help your property with upcoming wildfire season

With the above rainfall we’ve experienced this year, the fuel load has increased dramatically. Oklahoma always experiences a winter wildfire season due to vegetation dying off with freezing temperatures.

Before the vegetation dies off this winter, use the nice fall weather to your advantage. Mow all grass and trim brush away from any structures. Try to mow all grass so that it’s not tall and dead all winter long.

Longer grass and heavier brush provides a heavier fuel load for wildfires, should they occur.
