A fully submerged pickup truck prompted a large emergency response Sunday morning in Logan County after it was discovered in a pond north of Crescent.

Just before 11 a.m., authorities were notified of a blue pickup truck submerged in a pond near State Highway 74 and County Road 66. Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Dive Team, which assisted in recovering and searching the vehicle.

After searching the truck, authorities confirmed it was unoccupied.

According to sources, the suspected driver had driven the vehicle into the pond before leaving the area on foot. The man reportedly slept inside a nearby structure not far from the pond. Before authorities were aware the vehicle was in the water, the man was reportedly given a ride into the town of Crescent.

Investigators are continuing to determine what led up to the vehicle entering the pond and are following up on several leads.

The suspected driver is not believed to be a Logan County resident.

No injuries were reported, and the investigation remains ongoing.
