Two vehicle accident involving 8 people sends 4 to the hospital

A dangerous intersection along Highway 33 was victim of another high-speed collision. The latest came on Sunday afternoon that sent four people to the hospital.

At around 4 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the intersection of Henney Road and Highway 33, which is in the city limits of Langston for a two-vehicle accident.

A RV (recreational vehicle) was traveling westbound on Highway 33 when a green, four-door passenger car pulled out in the highway striking the RV, according a passenger in the RV.

The passenger said they were returning home from vacation, as far as Canada, and were just 10 minutes from their home in Guthrie.

In total, eight people were involved in the accident with four people in each vehicle.

wreck-10-02-16-1The driver of the passenger car was airlifted from the scene, while three others in the car were transported by ambulance.

The passenger says no one was injured in their RV, but were tossed around pretty good.

A Coyle firefighter, who was assisting with the wreck, was treated at the scene for dehydration.

The westbound lanes of the highway were shut down for nearly two hours. Traffic was diverted onto Henney Road.

Langston Police Department, Langston University Police, Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Coyle Fire Department, Guthrie Fire Department, LifeNet and Air Evac responded to the accident.
