Uncontrolled intersection sends two to the hospital

Two men were taken to hospitals on Tuesday afternoon following a two vehicle accident.

According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Robert Prescott, 53, of Crescent was driving a 2011 Jeep Wrangler westbound on County Road 75.

Prescott struck a 2006 Ford F-250 driven by Kevin Carnes, 52, of Crescent, who was traveling southbound on Rockwell.

The crash was two miles west and one mile south of Crescent at 1:29 p.m.

Prescott, who was not wearing a seatbelt, failed to yield to the right at the uncontrolled intersection and struck Carnes’ F-250 on the passenger side. Prescott’s Jeep rolled one-quarter time before coming to a rest on its driver side.

Prescott was transported to OU Medical Center and admitted in critical condition with head, internal trunk, external trunk and leg injuries.

Carnes was transported to Mercy Logan County Hospital by personal vehicle and was treated and released with arm and head injuries.

This is an incorrect telling of this event. As a member of the family of one of the victims, I’m appalled that you werent even able to get the “reported” part correct. Your news page needs to report correct information or stop reporting all together. For the correct “report” of this event, trying taking a look at the Guthrie newsleader, their information may not be complete, but at least it’s correct for what was originally reported.
