Guthrie High School’s Annual United Week will be held March 10 through the 14. United Week is a time for students to provide support to and get involved with organizations in the Guthrie community.
This year or theme is “Lights, Camera, Let’s Take Action!” throughout our Hollywood themed week, students will be able to provide support to Lunch on Noble. Lunch on Noble serves free lunch five days a week to anyone who is in need of a meal.
“It is operated by various churches in Guthrie though the Minstrel Alliance. The impact they make in our community is indeed great and it is an honor to give back to them,” advisor Jordan Hodge said.
All funds raised will be used to help buy new kitchen items in hope to start a renovation of their main facility at the Episcopal Church. Some of the things they are in need of include appliance items such as new stoves, a dishwasher, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils like spoons, spatulas, and mixing bowls.
“Our goal this year is $12,000 dollars! No doubt the bar has been set high but it is not unreachable,” Hodge said.
The competition this year will be between grades. We ask that everyone will step in to raise money and show what grade has the biggest philanthropists!
