Unsafe speed on county road sends one person to hospital

Unsafe speed is believed to have been the cause of a one-vehicle accident in eastern Logan County on Sunday that sent one person to the hospital via medical helicopter.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports Jason Cowan, 22, of Edmond was driving a 2000 Ford F150 on Hiwassee Ave. just south of County Road 73 when he departed the roadway to the left and struck a tree on the passenger side.

The passenger, Kristina Clark, 26, of Bethany was transported by Air Evac to an Oklahoma City hospital. She was admitted in fair condition with internal and trunk injuries.

The accident report says unsafe speed was the cause of the collision.

Along with OHP and Air Evac, the Guthrie Fire Department and Coyle Fire Department responded to the wreck.
