Guthrie Upper Elementary School was a recipient of the Fuel up To Play 60 grant this school year. The monies used from the grant went to supply items for the walking trial on the playground.
Students walked on designated days in the morning from 7:30 a.m. to 8:05 and the miles began to add up. Students who walked 15 miles or more received a gift card to Academy while students with 10 miles received a Gatorade water bottle.
A total of 90 students received an award.
Congratulations students on your walking and your decision to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle!
The top walker in the school was Cooper Watts, who walked 45 miles and for his efforts received a Fuel Up to Play 60 tee-shirt.
