Guthrie police and firefighters responded to a vehicle fire Saturday morning after flames erupted from the engine compartment of a car near Cotteral Elementary School.
Emergency crews were dispatched just before 9 a.m. to the intersection of Noble Avenue and 19th Street, where police officers were first to arrive. Officers found visible flames coming from the engine of a Volkswagen parked in front of the school.
All occupants safely exited the vehicle before emergency responders arrived, and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, extinguishing the fire within minutes and preventing it from spreading further.
The vehicle was later towed from the scene.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
