It took a bit of time to think of a place where to set the fourth state football championship monument inside Guthrie’s Jelsma Stadium. The most recent championship monument was installed on Wednesday afternoon.
Before the fourth state title a season ago, the three previous monuments were neatly placed in a corner when you entered the home side of the stadium. Now with the fourth monument, organizers had to get creative after space ran out of the corner.
The monument was placed along the west wall and is as easily displayed as the other monuments.
Asa Nelson, owner of Warren Monument Company, says the stone is about 3,000 pounds.
