Investigators make an arrest after finding body

The Logan County Sheriff ‘s Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation have made an arrest of a southern Logan County man related to a homicide investigation. The arrest comes on the same day a female’s body was found.

TimothySlawsonDeputies responded to the 9900 block of S Bryant Avenue – just off of Simpson Road – Friday morning at around 9 a.m. after a nearby resident found the body of a partially-clothed female on a dead-end gravel road.

Chief Deputy Richard Stephens says the victim, whom is believed to be in her 30’s, has been identified, but her identity can not be released as investigators attempt to find her family members.

The cause of the woman’s death has not been determined.

Body FoundMeanwhile, Timothy Earl Slawson, 21, was arrested hours later and is being held at the Logan County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center. Slawson is expected to be formally charged with murder on Monday.

Slawson pleaded guilty to second degree burglary charges and after spending 20 days in jail got a five-year deferred sentence.

  1. wow! You can rob somebody at gun point and only get 20 days in Logan co. No wonder this guy went back to crime, sounds like a judge and DA needs a kick in the butt.

  2. He was arrested for breaking in. The HOMEOWNER held the burglar at gunpoint.

  3. sorry must have read it wrong, homeowner should have shot him.

  4. Maybe the dad should be prosecuted for giving the gun to his felon son? Wont take mine from my dead hand but he and his son did obviously not need one?

  5. Maybe you should know the facts before you speak weaser. His dad did not GIVE him the gun, he took the gun in the middle of the night without his knowledge. Prayer is the best thing for both families instead of trying to point blame. They have the right person in custody. Neither family is to blame for what has happened.
