One person was taken into custody on Sunday evening after a gun was tossed from a moving vehicle.

A Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was working her first day in Logan County and familiarizing herself with local streets. In the process, she attempted to pull a vehicle over, but the vehicle continued.

The trooper noticed a handgun had been thrown out from the vehicle in the 500 block of N. Wentz St. just before 6 p.m.

The pursuit continued on Highway 77 (Wentz St.) until Cooksey Road (north of the high school).

Three people were held at gunpoint until Guthrie police officers could arrive on the scene to assist. All three were put into investigative dentition for questioning. Later, one person was arrested and the other suspects were allowed to leave on their own.

Police officers, who were assisted by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, photographed and spoke with witnesses on Wentz St. between Mansur and Logan Ave.

A hand gun and magazine were found in the northbound lane on Wentz St.

The roadway was blocked for approximately 30 minutes.

The suspect was not identified at the scene, or what charges he is now facing. Guthrie News Page will follow-up with this story when more details become available.

There were no injuries reported at either scenes.
