Marshall Snipes and Bob Burke were honored for their outstanding contribution to Oklahoma sports history with their book Oklahoma Fellowship of Christian Athletes: 60 Years of Influence.

Chuck Bowman, who played football for Bud Wilkinson at the University of Oklahoma, was the first director of the Oklahoma FCA and introduced Marshall Snipes, the keynote speaker and co-author of the book.

Bob Burke, the book’s co-author, was unable to attend, but made a $500 donation to the sports museum that sits in downtown Guthrie.

Snipes admitted it was his first time to ever visit the museum. “This is a pretty amazing place,” Snipes said as he got situated in front of the microphone.

The author spoke on the history of FCA in Oklahoma and fielded questions from the gallery.

Museum Director Richard Hendricks presented Snipes a framed certificate to recognize his efforts and contributions.
