Volar Flight School is expanding its operations to the Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport, adding another flight training option to the growing aviation community at the regional airport.
Volar will establish its new flight training location in Hangar 23B. The Guthrie City Council and Airport Board have also approved Volar to operate as a Part 145 Maintenance and Repair station, allowing the company to maintain, repair, and overhaul aircraft and aircraft components.
Founded in Oklahoma, Volar Flight School offers professional flight training ranging from Private Pilot Certification to Certified Flight Instructor and Multi-Engine training.
The company operates a fleet of modern training aircraft equipped with Garmin G1000 avionics and focuses on flight instruction, pilot development, proficiency, and safety.
“We’re pleased to welcome Volar Flight School to the Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport,” Guthrie City Manager Eddie Faulkner said. “Their investment strengthens the airport’s role as a regional center for aviation education and workforce development while creating new opportunities for aspiring pilots and supporting continued economic growth.”
Faulkner said Volar’s expansion is another example of businesses investing in the community and added that the city looks forward to the company’s long-term success at the airport.
The new operation is expected to provide additional flight training opportunities for current and prospective pilots throughout central Oklahoma while increasing activity at the airport.
Volar joins several other flight schools already operating at the Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport, including Airnoss, Buck’s Flight Academy, and Confidence Flight Training.
Dr. Craig Carson, owner of Volar, said the company is excited about the opportunity to become part of the airport’s continued development.
