Anthony Giddings becomes the latest Guthrie High School baseball player to sign with Northern Oklahoma College. GIddings made that official on Wednesday afternoon inside the school’s gymnasium.
Giddings, who can play multiple infield positions and has aided the Jays on the mound, signed his letter of intent as family and friends watched on.
“Anthony is going into a group of coaches that are very excited to get a Guthrie Bluejay,” head baseball coach Casey Porter said to the on lookers. “It’s a great situation for him.”
In recent time, Guthrie has served the Jets will with athletes, including Josh Rains, Rowdy Reihs and Evan Kowalski.
“Anthony is someone who loves the game of baseball. I think he will go up there and fall in love with the facilities and coaches,” Porter said.
Giddings thanked his mother, friends and coaches.
“I want to thank everyone who has helped and guided me to this point,” Giddings said just before signing his paperwork.
