The Guthrie — Carl Albert series is back after a year off due to COVID in 2020, and this year’s version appears will be another great showdown between the two Class 5A programs.
The two programs, who share great mutul respect towards each other, will kick off inside Jelsma Stadium this evening.

Guthrie is attempting to start the season 5-0 for the second straight season and three times in the last four years.
Carl Albert, the five-time defending state champions in 5A, enters with a 2-2 record with losses to Class 6A-II cross town rivals Del City and Midwest City.
The game will likely play a big role when it comes to 5A-2 standings implications.
