What fans will need to know for Friday night

Many Guthrie fans are expecting to make the trip to Stillwater for the Class 5A state semi-final game between the top ranked Booker T. Washington Hornets and the second ranked Guthrie BlueJays. Here is what you need to know before the game.

Visiting Team
Booker T. will be the home team and will be on the home sideline (West sideline). Guthrie fans are urged to sit on the visitors side (opposite side of the press box). Gates open at 6:30 with playoff admission set at $7 for adults and $5 for students (K thru 12th).

Game Time Temperature
The expected high on Friday is 43 degree’s, but game time temperature is expected to be in the mid 30’s with winds from the north, northwest at 5-10 mph. The over night low is expected at 22 degree’s.

Directions to Pioneer Stadium
Head North on I-35 and take exit 174 toward Stillwater onto OK 51 for approximately 14.8 miles. Turn left on Western and continue West on Hall of Fame. Next turn left on Main Street and continue on Boomer Road with a slight turn to Husband Street.

Listen to the Jays inside the Stadium

Fans can listen to the Guthrie broadcast from inside Pioneer Stadium on 105.1 FM. Fans unable to make the trip can listen in North Central Oklahoma on 105.1 FM, 1o20 AM, and 1580 AM, or world wide at www.GuthrieSportsPage.com. Pre-Game coverage begins at 7:00.

OSSAA Guidelines for Fans
Noisemakers such as boom boxes, air horns, cow bells, etc., are legal as long as they do not interrupt the normal game related activities.

Signs and banners with appropriate language and symbols may be displayed on the respective team’s side of the field. No signs or banners will be allowed in the end zones.
