Witness: Driver ejected in vehicle accident

A female driver was rushed to OU Medical Center on Tuesday morning after a witness said she was ejected from a vehicle accident along S. Division St.

Emergency crews from the Guthrie Fire Department, Guthrie Police Department and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2800 block of S. Division St. just after 8:30 a.m.

Witnesses tell Guthrie News Page a red four-door vehicle pulled out onto Division St. and into the northbound lanes from the Mercy Clinic. However, an elderly driver did not see an oncoming black four-door Nissan Titan, who was traveling northbound.

Despite missing the turning vehicle, the female driver of the Titan lost control of the truck and traveled across the southbound lanes, through a residential fence and coming to a rest in an open field.

A witness says the driver was ejected from the truck.

Firefighters and police officers treated the injured driver, who was on the ground just feet from the truck. She was later placed on a back board and transported to the Oklahoma City hospital.

The front of the truck took on heavy damage and was towed from the scene.
