A woman was flown to a Oklahoma City hospital Tuesday afternoon after being ejected from a vehicle. A vehicle witnesses say she stole just minutes before the crash on Highway 33.

Stolen TruckAt around 4:15 p.m. emergency crews responded to a rollover accident on the highway (just west of I-35). Upon arrival, a woman was found conscious, lying in the street, but was not able to respond or communicate.

Witnesses say they saw the woman, name not released at the scene, break the window out of a red truck with a hammer. The truck was parked at a nearby tire shop with the keys inside. The woman quickly took off in the truck and headed east on Highway 33, but turned around and headed back west.

One witness followed the truck and notified the police. The witness tells Guthrie News Page the woman was reaching speeds nearly 80 mph and attempted to run others off the road.

Eventually, while trying to cut between two vehicles, she rolled the truck several yards away from where she allegedly stole the truck.

A second vehicle was also involved in the wreck, but the driver and passenger refused medical treatment at the scene.

The current condition of the woman is unknown at the time of this article.
