One person was killed Friday morning just before 9 a.m. on Interstate 35, just south of Guthrie.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol a truck with a trailer attached ran off the highway near Seward road.

Troopers believe the driver Jacob Burrell, 23, of Enid may have fell asleep resulting in running off the southbound lanes and down a ditch.

He attended Chisholm schools and graduated in 2006. He was employed with Stuart Irby Electrical Supply Co. for the last two years.

Authorities said the vehicle went airborne, crashed and exploded. The Oklahoma state medical examiner’s office was at the scene.
