Zuko Herbert was named Guthrie Public Schools’ Student of the Month for the month of December. She was nominated by her teacher Megan Hutchison.
Herbert, a sophomore student at Guthrie High School, was nominated for her thoughtfulness.
“Zuko is always very thoughtful, caring, and reliable,” her teacher said. Anytime I am needing extra help, Zuko always offers to help.”
Hutchison says Zuko comes in after the last bell of the day to help with any remaining cleaning or organizing that is needed.
“Zuko is always polite and kind to others, and seems to think of others often.”
The district-wide student of the month program is sponsored locally by Foundation Insurance.
Blake Wimsey with Foundation Insurance presented Zuko with a $50 Walmart gift card and spoke to the classroom about insurance.
This is the fifth year of the program that honors students for their character traits.
