2.7 earthquake shakes southern Logan County

The southern part of Logan County was hit by an earthquake Sunday morning. Although, many did not feel the quake.

At 10:05, the United States Geological  Survey confirmed a 2.7 magnitude earthquake.

No injuries or damages were reported. Discussion

The USGS said the earthquake hit nine miles ESE of Guthrie, eight miles south of Langston and 16 miles NE of Edmond.

In November 2011, an earthquake registered a 5.6 and its epicenter was four miles east of Sparks in Lincoln County, according to the USGS. The 5.6 is the largest quake Oklahoma has ever felt. The previous strongest earthquake was April 9, 1952 in El Reno.
