BancFirst sponsors art field trips for Guthrie students

BancFirst has partnered with the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art to provide an opportunity for students in grades K-12 to benefit from the museum’s art-integrated student programs by providing scholarships for field trips. Each program combines museum and classroom activities for an exceptional learning experience.

“We are excited to partner with the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art for this unique program that will greatly benefit our students,” remarked BancFirst Guthrie president LaVerne Dowding.

“BancFirst has always been a proud supporter of the Guthrie community, no small part of which is our students, teachers and school administrators. It is important to us that we don’t just serve our BancFirst customers but that we also strive to invest in and contribute to the young people in this great community. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience a world-class museum.”

Located on the campus of St. Gregory’s University in Shawnee, the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is one of the oldest museums in Oklahoma.  Each year students from all over the state travel to the museum to view the museum’s collection that includes some of the finest artwork spanning 8,000 years.

The BancFirst scholarships provide museum field trips at no cost to the students or the schools. To further reduce out of pocket expense, schools can apply for full or partial bus transportation reimbursement. More information can be found at www.mgmoa.org.
