Boys golf opens season in Stillwater

The Guthrie boys golf team opened their season with a trip to Stillwater’s Country Club and was the only 5A school represented in the 6A field.

The Jays shot a 343 and as Choctaw came away with the team title with a team score of 327.

Guthrie was led by Brent Jenkins low score of 78 and followed closely by Jack Klein’s 83. Klein returns this season after finishing just outside the top 10 with a 164 at last year’s 5A state tournament in Broken Arrow.

Klein and Brent Jenkins tied for sixth individually. Ethan Delno recorded a 90, Bryce Sullivan checked in with a 92, and Austin McCaul finished with a 99.

Guthrie will travel to Ardmore on Friday and Saturday and play at Dornick Hills – Lakeview.
