Brothers top five recruit in Oklahoma

Scout.com takes an early look at the Top 10 players in the Sooner State for the Class of 2011. Super athlete Josh Turner grabs the top spot, but who else made the list?

1. Josh Turner – OC Millwood
Turner is an exciting player that could be a standout on offense at receiver in defense at cornerback. Turner has excellent skills and great hips to be a lock down corner, so that is the position he will likely be ranked at when it is all said and done on Scout.com

2. Kendal Thompson – Southmoore – OU Commit
Thompson is a talented left-handed gunslinger that really came in to his own as a junior in 2009 when he led the Sabercats to the semis. He is a pass first quarterback that is as slick and elusive as they come when running the ball. He is committed to OU.

3. Dominique Petties – Duncan
Petties was a virtual unknown until the Oklahoma Sooners offered him on Junior Day. He is a hard hitting prospect who could project out at safety or linebacker on the next level. He could rise even higher once he is seen in person if he is as equally as explosive as he appears on film.

4. Tyrequek Zimmerman – Lawton
Zimmerman is a hard hitter at safety and major playmaker at receiver. He has a great combination of skills at receiver and he can go up and make the spectacular plays look easy. He does a nice job of making the catch with tight coverage on him and he also shows toughness in going over the middle.

5. Kentrell Brothers – Guthrie
Brothers is one of the most exciting playmakers in the state at receiver and he amassed some amazing numbers on defense at end, but he will likely find his most natural fit on defense at linebacker in college.

6. Isaac Maselera – Glenpool – OSU Commit
Maselera is the early favorite to be the top overall prospect in the Tulsa area and the Oklahoma State Cowboys were quick to swoop in with an offer and earn an early commitment. He is a big framed safety with great length. He will also deliver a blow.

7. Austin Beck – Nowata
Beck put his name on the map at the Oklahoma summer football camp when he held his own in all of the drills. Schools are starting to line up to snag his signature. One concern may be his level of competition, but he has excellent upside.

8. Dylan Dismuke – Duncan
Dismuke has a major frame and he does an excellent job of controlling the line of scrimmage in high school and that is why a number of top schools have come after him with scholarship offers. He will only get better as he develops some more strength in college.

9. Kevonte Richardson – OC Millwood
Richardson is a slick athlete that has been playing quarterback but likely projects out as a safety or corner on the collegiate level. He has great frame and is one of the more physically impressive players in the state.

10. Daniel Davis – Norman North – Stanford Commit
He is an athletic player that fires off the line and his speed rush is hard for slower offensive linemen to handle. He will need to continue to get stronger and use his hands more effectively at end, but could also play LB in college.
