Investigators with the United States Postal Service (USPS) became suspicious of a package on Monday that arrived at the Guthrie Post Office. On Tuesday, the package was picked up and a California man was arrested moments later on a traffic stop.

The USPS investigator says the package arrived to the facility with an odor of marijuana.

During the traffic stop, Daves and Darco detected the odor of marijuana. A package, containing 11 mason jars, was located in the trunk of the Toyota vehicle.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Brinsfield admitted to investigators that the package was delivered for him and him alone. He was taken into custody for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

On Wed., Brinsfield was in a Logan County courtroom and was given a $30,000 bond and a July 16 court date.
