Call volume, EMS incidents on the rise in 2015 for Guthrie Fire

The Guthrie Fire Department saw an increase in Emergency Medical Services call volume in 2015.

The department received 2,184 EMS calls and 283 fire calls this past year.

Compared to 2014, there were 400 additional EMS calls and 389 total calls in 2015.

Officials were pleased to report 11 fewer fire calls than in 2014.

The department, which runs on all medical calls inside the Guthrie Public School district, continues to service a large part of the county, including Mulhall, Coyle, and Langston, despite being outside of their district.

Guthrie provided ambulance service in the Crescent EMS district for several weeks after Crescent EMS closed down. Crescent resumed their ambulance service as of last week.
