Christmas in Guthrie to get media blitz this week

I hope you had a great Veteran’s Day weekend. The Christmas Tree & Wreath auction held Saturday evening in the Carnegie Library was really nice. The auction brought in over two thousand dollars. Bronze Guthrie Christmas Ornaments representing the Carnegie Library are on sale at Heritage Collections, Treasures & Books, Ella Rose Boutique, Magnolia Mall, Rosa Bella and Recollections Antiques.  Territorial Christmas Sweat Shirts and T-shirts are for sale in the chamber office as well. Proceeds go to the Christmas Committee which will help pay for decorations, printing and other costs associated with putting on the Christmas Festivities.

There is a media blitz this week to promote all of Guthrie s Christmas events. This is something we have never tried before, it was offered through our partnership with Frontier County. We will stop at radio and TV stations in Pauls Valley, Ada, Sulphur, Ardmore, Duncan, Durant, Marietta and will travel as far as Denison Texas.

We have a Corporate Road Show this week at Tinker Air Force Base. The show will be in the food court located in the Base Exchange.  3,000 to 5,000 people come through the food court daily, so we will be exposed to A LOT of people. We will be passing out information about our Christmas Celebration and our 2013 Events.
