City of Guthrie fills new accountant role

The City of Guthrie announced the hiring of Maria Young as the new Accountant/Special Projects Officer.

Maria will join the City’s leadership team on Monday, March 9.

She has nine years of accounting experience, including three years as an Accounting Manager at Mar-K Specialized Manufacturing.She holds a Master of Science Degree in Accountancy.  

The Accountant/Special Projects Officer is a newly created role. The position will research, collect, analyze and summarize accounting and utility billing information as requested to compile reports to assist in the general management of the City

This position will also prepare and present proposals for special projects important to the City. Further, this position will provide project oversight and management of a wide variety of assigned administrative functions, community service programs, and capital improvement projects to ensure they are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
