City personnel meet with State senator and representatives

On Friday, November 14, city personnel and elected officials from the Town of Orlando and the City of Perry met with Senator AJ Griffin and Representatives Casey and Pfeiffer over lunch in Perry. The lunch was hosted by the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA) with the purpose of introducing OMPA’s member city personnel and elected officials to the legislators that represent them. 

AJCity personnel expressed the concerns facing rural communities in Oklahoma. The legislators and city personnel had in depth discussions regarding the issues, and issues that could become a concern in the future.

Those in attendance were: Dixie Johnson, City Clerk for the City of Perry; Connelly Wade, Vice Mayor for the City of Perry; Brian Wheatley, Electric Superintendent for the City of Perry; Brooke Hermann, Clerk for the Town of Orlando; Mark Summers, Trustee for the Town of Orlando; Representative Dennis Casey, District 35; Senator AJ Griffin, District 20; Representative John Pfeiffer, District 38; Brant Cale and Bobby Stem, Capitol Gains; Randy Elliott, OMPA General Counsel; Drake Rice, OMPA Director of Member Services and Jennifer Rogers, OMPA Governmental Relations Representative.
