Cotton, Chappell named All Staters

John Cotton and Jaden Chappell continue to roll in the post season baseball honors and none bigger came when they were name as All-Staters.

The Oklahoma Coaches Association announced its All-State baseball teams Friday. The OCA All-State baseball game will be played July 26 at Oral Roberts in Tulsa. The small school game will begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by the large school game at 7 p.m.

Chappell, who will be a member of the Cowley County Tigers next spring, finished his career with 30 home runs and batted .449 in his senior campaign. The four-year starter played on the corners at first and third base.

Cotton finished his BlueJay career with 37 home runs and is believed to hit more in a career then any other Guthrie player. Cotton was named as a reserve to last years team batted .426 to go with 14 round trippers.
