Cyphers, Carroll named GPS Employees of the Month

The May 2023 Certified and Support Employee of the Month for Guthrie Public Schools is Jennifer Cyphers and Teri Carroll.

Each was presented with a plaque and a $25 Sonic gift card for their recognition.

Carroll was nominated by the Guthrie Junior High School cafeteria staff for her dedication to special needs students.

“She is very patient with the special needs students that she works with. She goes above and beyond to make sure that all her children have a smile on their faces.”

The staff added that Carroll is a sweet lady and that the school district is lucky to have her.

Cyphers, a sixth-grade teacher at Guthrie Upper Elementary School, was nominated by Kendra McNew.

“Mrs. Cyphers has such a huge heart,” McNew says. “Not only for her students but for her colleagues as well.”

McNew added the teacher never hesitates to jump in and help wherever needed.

“She always lends an ear if someone needs to vent and gives the best advice. I am proud to work with her.”
