The Guthrie Junior High wrestling team took on El Reno, Tuesday evening inside the GHS gymnasium,  with the visitors coming away with a 45-24 win.

“The team fought hard, but with a couple of wrestlers having to wrestle up a weight class and four forfeits,” coach Eric Woodard said.

Andrew Toney, at 185, got a fall in 56 seconds, and Blake Finley, at heavyweight, picked up a fall in 1:20. Alex Nelson, at 94, got his pin in 2:40, while Josiah Sisco, at 152, pinned his opponent at the 4:00 mark.

The team takes on Deer Creek Thursday, at the high school, and some members of the junior varsity team will compete in the McLoud tournament this weekend.
